THE TWOFOLD PARADOX
THE TWOFOLD PARADOX is a dance duet that translates cinematographic working methods and processes into the stage. By means of movement, voice, sound and light, unrelated sequences are presented, which are intended to encourage the audience to make chains of associations in a kind of bizarre broken narrative. These sequences are happening in two furnished mirorred rooms built on the stage, in each of them there is a performer. The light will be exposing their actions in each room, playing with rhythm, acting as a live video film editor. It’s a play between perceptions, memory and imagination. The aim is to take the audience into a performative-filmic experience and at the same time dismantle and share to them the way we operate in order to engage them emotionally. Our aim is not only to challenge the audience's imagination, but also to raise awareness, through the exposure of the manipulation mechanisms used in the performance, of how our perception is influenced and guided by media experiences.
